HOW DOES THE EVENT WORK?
Radical self reliance is a key principle to making this event an ongoing success. There is NO VENDING at this event. You must bring everything you need for the length of time you intend to stay. You bring your sleeping quarters, ID, clothing, costumes, medicine, everything you need and all the food and beverages you need to take care of yourself and those you bring with you, especially your children.
ICE
Ice will be available for sale on site. Bring cash. Bags are usually about $5 each depending on size of bags delivered.
VENDING
There is NO VENDING at this event. If you are found selling your art, bracelets, necklaces, homemade jelly, or whatever, you will be asked to leave the event. This is NOT a vending event. Please do not ask to vend.
GENERATORS
Power is provided throughout the event through generators. Bring power cords if you want to connect to the power spider boxes. You are welcome to bring your own generator as long as you are considerate of your neighbors for noise and visibility. To help us power your camp (but not your RV or AC), please register your Theme Camps and Art Projects on the website.
DO SPEAKERS GET PAID?
Sorry, but not here. Please note that Love Burn does not pay artists, musicians, theme camps or speakers for workshops or music. Love Burn celebrates the Gifting economy of Burning Man. Participants want a place to share their talents with others. The event does all the work to provide a venue that brings in the people and the environment that encourages expression.

What is the Covid Policy?
COVID POLICY
The event will be following CDC, State and City guidelines at the time of the event for Large Outdoor Gatherings.
Rules and requirements are constantly changing at all these levels and there is no way for our volunteers or volunteer organizers to have a clear requirement at this moment since it may violate or change with future rules from the city, state or CDC level.
We want everyone to stay as safe and healthy as possible.
Masks and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) are encouraged at all times. With the fun animal theme of the Magnificent Mythical Menagerie, get creative with your costumes and masks.
As an event that celebrates Radical Self-Reliance, you are welcome to research and share your findings with others in a positive, communicative format that lets everyone know you care and are here to share and help. If you have fun ideas for masks and PPE, share them in our group.
Who? What? Where?
LOCATIONS:
CHECK IN GPS: Miami Seaquarium, 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149
The entry gate is planned for the neighboring venue at Miami Seaquarium, 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. The event venues are located at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park at 4020 Virginia Beach Dr and Virginia Key Beach on Arthur Lamb Road, but you must go through Check In first to get your valid event wristband and parking passes.
LEAVE NO TRACE:
We abide by the Burner principle of Leaving No Trace. Whatever you bring, leaves with you. You bring reusable water bottles. Please try to reduce use of one-time-use disposable items like plastic silverware by bringing reusable, washable camp dish ware. There are trash and recycling containers on your way out to deposit your neatly packed garbage and recyclables, but we encourage everyone to please take out everything they brought in.
VOLUNTEERS ARE SEXY!
Art is strongly encouraged and VOLUNTEERS are loved. You are the entertainment and the entertained. During the event, Everyone is asked to volunteer at least 4 hours. Most shifts are only 2-4 hours making it easy to volunteer and meet others. We are encouraging Theme Camps to volunteer as a group wearing something that signifies their theme camp. Join together while volunteering as Rangers, Greeters, Info Gate, LNT and more. It's fun. Volunteer

Can I bring my Pet?
WHAT ABOUT PETS?
Pets and domestic animals are not permitted in Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.
SERVICE ANIMALS
Guests with service animals are welcome. Service animals are “dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks with people with disabilities,” according to the Revised Americans with Disabilities Act Service Animal Requirements. https://www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.htm
Service animals in a working capacity are allowed in all public areas of the park when accompanied by a visitor with a disability; and,
Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or a task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability.
It is now a second-degree misdemeanor in Florida to misrepresent an animal as a service animal. Misdemeanors of the second degree in Florida can result in a jail term of up to 60 days and a fine up to $500.
Service animals can use any unoccupied outdoor area for relief as long as the owner picks up after the animal and properly disposes it.
ADA regulations have separate provisions about miniature horses that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Click here to read more.
If you are bringing a service animal to the event venue, we ask that you let a staff member know that you have a service animal upon check-in.
If the service animal’s behavior is out of control and the owner does not take effective action to control it, he or she will be asked to remove the animal from the premises.
COMFORT AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS
The venue has the right to turn away comfort or emotional support animals. We ask that you do not bring these animals to the park.
Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under ADA service animal guidelines.
PARKING and VEHICLES
DOES IT NEED A PARKING PASS?
It's pretty simple (we hope), if it takes a Parking Spot and/or has a License Plate (and is not a golf cart or art car as stated below), then it needs a pass per vehicle.
PARKING PASSES:
Every Vehicle must have a PARKING PASS. This parking pass is paid for the entire 4-day weekend no matter how long you stay or what day you leave. Vehicles can leave with no re-entry fee. People may be subject to re-entry fee. Limited Gate Hours during event for entry and re-entry. Parking passes do not include admission to the event. Check website and watch for emails from The Love Burn.
CAR PASSES:
Car Pass is for any vehicle that drives on a road up to and including the size of a large SUV or Van. Bringing a minivan, truck, SUV, van, small trailer the size of a car, etc, then it needs a Car pass. If you are bringing a car and a small trailer, then you can purchase 2 car passes - 1 for car and 1 for trailer. No refunds. Cars will be parked Off-Site in the nearby parking lot. Vehicle pass does NOT include admission to event. You have 2 hours to unload your vehicle and move it to the designated parking lot.
RVs:
There are no RV hookups at venue. Your RV must be self reliant. Venue has NO RV hookups, water or dumps. Vehicle pass does NOT include admission to event. RVs are Recreational Vehicles or Toy Haulers. If it takes up 2 or more spaces, it is an RV. A Vehicle towing camper or trailer counts as one RV pass. Truck towing a trailer needs an RV pass. You will need 1 RV pass to cover the vehicle and the towed trailer. Even if Trailer sits empty during event inside venue or in neighboring parking lot, it still takes a parking spot, unless you have magic fairy dust to make it disappear from view by Miami Parking Enforcement. If your RV is carrying non-ticket holders at any time checking in or at the event, the entire RV and all people inside will be turned away and/or ejected from the event.
CAR CAMPING:
Car Camping Pass is no longer available unless you have a medical or special need with appropriate documentation. All Car Campers who have a disabled pass and want to car camp must be placed by Placement Team at the event. There is no guarantee that you will be placed inside the camping venue for a multitude of reasons. If your vehicle has a tent attached, you may be asked to remove one or the other to accommodate the total population to fit.
OTHER VEHICLE QUESTIONS: Please visit Department of Mutant Vehicles for more details.
GOLF CARTS
GOLF CARTS:
Golf carts must also be pre-registered with the LBDMV. No on-site registration is permitted. Most Golf Carts and Art Cars will not require a parking pass depending on the vehicle and its use and parking needs during the event, but both require a DMV tag to be mobile during the event.
DELIVERY OF GOLF CARTS:
If you are having a Golf Cart delivered, you or an authorized signer for your vehicle MUST be on-site to receive it. This does NOT allow preferred placement or early entry into the event. If you are not present, your delivery will be turned away.
Please note, you must have pre-registered your golf cart with the LBDMV before the January 15th deadline and the cart must be decorated, pass an inspection, and be given a tag from LBDMV on site before you are permitted to drive it around the event.
OTHER VEHICLE QUESTIONS:
Please visit Department of Mutant Vehicles for more details.
BIKES and ONEWHEELERS
ONE-WHEELERS?
Onewheelers also need DMV tags! If it has a motor and does not require a parking pass, then it needs a tag.
BIKES:
The venue is perfect for bicycles. It is flat and relatively easy to get around on 2 wheels. In fact, there is a dirt bike trail in the neighboring part of the island. Please decorate, light up and lock your bike.
WHEELCHAIRS:
There is a volunteer camp that is providing some ADA support.
OTHER VEHICLE QUESTIONS:
Please visit Department of Mutant Vehicles for more details.
DMV MUTANT VEHICLES AND ART CARS
MUTANT VEHICLES & ART CARS:
Mutant Vehicles and Art Cars are highly mutated, modified, or decorated vehicles that drive around the event and welcome participants to ride and/or interact.
Please note that unmutated vehicles are not permitted to drive around the event. This includes any golf carts or electric cycles that do not have human-powered pedals.
All Mutant Vehicles and Art Cars must pre-register with the Love Burn Department of Mutant Vehicles through this website and pass inspections at the event to receive a LBDMV tag.
No on-site registration is permitted. Unregistered vehicles being driven during the event will be impounded for the duration of the event.

Love Burn DMV Info Guide

FOR THE LOVE OF ART AND THEME CAMPS
ART PROPOSALS
Art submissions are open until November 30th. For 2022, we received almost 200 amazing art proposals and awarded nearly 100 artists.
ARTIST TICKETS
“My friend wants to sell me an artist ticket, how do I know it is valid.” Great question. All approved artists will have links on the Love Burn website.
The link will redirect you to their page where you can find more info about what you are supporting and how to pay them for your ticket. Some artist tickets need to go through a 2nd step to make them valid so be sure to read ALL the instructions they give you or you will get stuck outside the gate.
THEME CAMPS
Theme Camp registration will close on November 30th. There is no cost to submit. There is no approval process, unless you are doing something that you know is wrong for this event or its participants, then placement will not place your theme camp. They are volunteers too, so please always be patient and kind to our Placement team.
